This is a trip I've thought of doing since 1968.
At that time I was stationed at Ft. McClellan Alabama near Anniston about
35 miles east of Birmingham and 125 miles west of Atlanta Georgia.
After my advanced training at the Chemical Warfare school I was stationed as permanent party there and wanted some kind of transportation.
I bought a brand new 1968 Honda CB 350 motorcycle.
After spending a year there I received orders for Korea so I had to get back to California and the question arose of how to get my bike back home.
I thought about riding it but time limitations put a damper on that so I ended up shipping it back and the road trip went to the back of my mind for the next 42 years.
So here we are May 25th 2011 and I'm ready to hit the road.
All I'm waiting for is for the weather to improve in the middle of the country.
